Every two years, the Mesilla Valley MPO is required to develop a new Transportation Improvement Program (TIP). The TIP outlines the 6-year program for funding the various transportation projects that are scheduled to receive federal or selected state funds within the Mesilla Valley MPO area.
The Open Call for Projects for the 2020 – 2025 TIP commenced on November 19, 2018 and concluded on February 22, 2019. The Mesilla Valley MPO Public Participation Plan requires that the MPO have a 30 day public comment period before the MPO Policy Committee considers the new TIP for adoption. That public comment period commenced on April 4, 2019 at the regularly scheduled Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) Meeting.
Subsequent to the start of the TIP adoption process, Doña Ana County, the City of Las Cruces, and the Las Cruces Public Schools were awarded Transportation Alternatives Program and Recreational Trails Program funding. This funding must be amended into the adoption of the 2020-2025 TIP. The updated information may be found here.
The public comment period for this 2020 to 2025 TIP Adoption Update commenced at the May 21, 2019 meeting of the Bicycle and Pedestrian Facilities Advisory Committee (BPAC). The BPAC will hold a Special Meeting on June 18, 2019 to consider this TIP Adoption Update. The information for the special meetings of the TAC and Policy Committees will be forthcoming.
